Mathys Tel has unveiled the key role that Harry Kane played to convince him to join Tottenham to the Deadline Day.
Tel, 19, made a beautiful U-turn in the last hours of the transfer star when he agreed to move to Spurs from Bayern Munich for the rest of the season, just a few days after rejecting the North London club.
The striker is now open about how a conversation with Spurs Legend and Bayern teammate Kane helped.
In a video that was released on the official X account of Tottenham, Tel was asked if he had talked about the club with Kane.
Tel replied: 'He told me that this is a big club with many very good people. The field is very nice, the training center is very good and if you go there you can enjoy it.
“Everything was positive by Harry Kane.”
Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal had all shown interest in signing count, but he chose to complete the campaign at Spurs despite their struggles under Ange Postecoglou this season.
Tel is limited to only two start -up start to Bayern, but hope to play a much greater role at Tottenham in the coming months.
The Frenchman is able to play over the front line and can be thrown directly into the team because Dominic Solanke is currently being sidelined by injury.
Spurs have a huge week coming as they are confronted in the second stage of their semi-final of Carabao Cup on Thursday opposite Liverpool before they travel to Aston Villa in the FA Cup three days later.
Tottenham won the first stage with 1-0 against Liverpool and will hold their advantage to book their place in the final of next month in Wembley.
The pressure has been mounted on Postecoglou in recent weeks, but his party has picked up a crucial 2-0 win over Brentford on Sunday and will now focus their attention on cup competitions while offering to end their 17-year waiting time on silverware.
