Conor McGregor praises Sean Strickland's 'unconventional' training methods

Many professional hunters do not believe in hard sparring and people like Max Holloway got sparrings from their fighting camps.

Strickland, however, is of the fully opposite faith while, until his fighting, he waked the deceased to his fighting.

Despite that, former UFC Double Champion, Conor McGregor Strickland has praised for his 'unconventional' training methods that attribute to the success he has had in the Octagon.

When Strickland shocked the world by beating Israel Adesanya on UFC 293, McGregor laid that on his 'only -Spar method'.

“The 'Spar only' method awards the new UFC Middleweight world champion. Well done Sean, “McGregor tweeted at the time.

Strickland, who trains at Xtreme Couture, has shared the mats with potential future opponent, Khamzat Chimaev. Strickland was lucky to get the title shot according to Du Plessis who instead gave a fight against Chimaev.

In addition to his work at Xtreme Couture, the former champion has also become friends and training partner of the current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Alex Pereira.

Pereira will be part of Strickland's corner on UFC 312, a decision criticized by former UFC Double Champion, Daniel Cormier, who believes it is a 'risk' for the Brazilian.

Sean Strickland's Coach Backs Decision to have Pereira in the corner

Although the decision to have Peeira in the corner, it has been criticized by both Cormier and Du Plessis, Erick Nicksick has supported the decision by saying 'Who better to have in the corner' than the current biggest star in the sport?

Despite the fact that 'Patan' will not be able to offer much advice, because there is a clear language barrier between the two, Nicksick believes that the presence of the Brazilian in the dressing room before the fight will be a great motivation for Strickland.

Strickland went to Salt Lake City for UFC 307 to help Pereira prepare for his title fight against Khalil Rountree JR and hopes that he will have a similar success with the now reverse roles.
