Man Utd make summer transfer decision on Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo

Manchester United is still open to the sale of Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo in the summer.

The pair was linked to outputs during the January transfer window. Garnacho was connected to Napoli and Chelsea, but a deal was not agreed, while the blues were also interested in a stroke for midfielder Mainoo.

The couple stayed in Old Trafford when the transfer window closed on Monday, but they could still leave. According to The Guardian, both Mainoo and Garnacho were available in January and will be on sale in the summer.

And United Chiefs have already revealed how much is needed to sign them. Garnacho is appreciated at around £ 70 million, with Mainoo with a price tag of more than £ 80 million.

Mainoo only signed a new deal in February 2023 and that deal runs two and a half years. There have been conversations about an extensive contract, but an agreement still has to be found, where United is not willing to meet its requirements.

In the meantime, Garnacho is under contract until the summer of 2028. And while the couple are still long to run their respective deals, United Boss Ruben Amorim recently hinted that he would be open to sales, but has encouraged the club to encourage the Academy to continue to promote players.

He said, “That part [United listening to offers] Is true, but I want players such as Kobbie and Garnacho. The focus is that we have to improve our academy and that you have to spend more.

“That is something that all clubs in England should benefit from – the players who come from the academy. To fill the shirt and also to be able to sell them. So our focus is to spend more.”

Away from Garnacho and Mainoo there could be more sales, because United wants to be to add money to their summer greenhouse. Both Marcus Rashford and Antony could possibly start permanently with loan movements.

The first joined Aston Villa until the end of the season, where Villa pays most of its elevated wages. The side of Unai Emery also has an option of £ 40 million to make the deal permanent.

In the meantime, Antony joined the Spanish side Real Betis on loan and they could possibly be confronted with sanctions if they didn't play enough. Betis does not have an option to make that deal permanent.
