Sir Jim Ratcliffe sets example with strong stance on latest Man Utd transfer

Manchester United has used Tyrell Malacia's exit to send a message that they will no longer be a soft touch when selling players.

Malacia, 25, completed a move back to the Netherlands on Tuesday and joined PSV Eindhoven on loan. But that was not the original plan for the left back, which was ready to join Benfica before the move broke.

Conversations had reached an advanced stage, where Malacia was looking for the much needed playing time after Ruben Amorim had made him excess to the requirements. The only addition of United of the Winter Transfer window was a different left back and paid £ 25 million to sign Patrick Dorgu.

After Dorgu's arrival was confirmed, Malacia was free to seal a loan movement to Benfica. The deal is said to have included an obligation to buy and that was the bottleneck between the clubs.

According to the mail, Benfica made an offer with a low ball that United considered unacceptable. The club based in Lisbon was not willing to meet the requirements and negotiations of the Red Devils, then demolished.

It is hoped that United, which is often criticized because they let players continue cheaply, will now be seen as more difficult negotiators. Sir-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe actively brings changes to balance the books at Old Trafford and to discharge players on favorable conditions would certainly be a step in the right direction.

Malacia, who signed United for £ 13 million in the summer of 2022, has now returned to the Netherlands. PSV will have to pay £ 8.3 million to sign him permanently, a fee that Ratcliffe and Co. consider more acceptable.

“I am happy to be here,” the 25-year-old told PSV's internal media after he has come to them. Finally play good football again. I come from a long injury, but now I am fit and I know that my time will come again.

“In every difficult period there are also positive elements and in this case it is that I have become much stronger physically and mentally. I have more patience, I am more mature, know my body better and things like that. I am ready to pop out And hopefully win different prizes with PSV.

PSV director of Voetbal Earnie Stewart added: “We are very happy to welcome a player with Tyrell who can be of immediate value for PSV. Tyrell has a lot of experience at the highest level and is also a player with a lot of potential. We I look forward to seeing him. “

Malacia is not eligible to make his debut in the home game of PSV against his former club, Feyenoord, Wednesday.
