Slot confirms Alexander-Arnold will miss EFL Cup clash against Spurs

Arne Slot has confirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold Liverpool's EFL Cup Semi-Final Second Been collision with Tottenham will miss on Thursday with a suspected thigh injury.

Alexander-Arnold was replaced by Conor Bradley in the 70th minute of the 2-0 victory of the Reds on Bournemouth in the Premier League last Saturday.

This season, the International of England has presented one after all the top matches of Liverpool and missed their 3-2 victory over Southampton in November with a hamstring problem.

Only Mohamed Salah (52) has created more opportunities than Alexander-Arnold (45) in the Premier League, because Slot's side is clearly on top.

But if they have to destroy a 1-0 deficit from the first stage against Tottenham and reach Wembley for the final, they have to do this without one of their most important makers.

“He will miss the game tomorrow. We will have to see if he can play on Sunday, but what we know is that he is not available for tomorrow,” Slot told reporters.

“He left the field with a little pain in his leg. He is back on the field with the Rehabcoach, so let's see how long it will take, but he will not be available for tomorrow.”

Slot also states that he is happy with his team for the rest of the season, because he did not welcome newcomers during the transfer star of January.

Liverpool was one of the five teams, together with Chelsea, Arsenal, Fulham and Newcastle United, who made no signing sessions halfway through the campaign.

However, there were a number of editions in Anfield, albeit on temporary deals. Jayden Danns, Stefan Bajcetic and Kaide Gordon were just a few of the names sent on loan.

Joe Gomez is Liverpool's only major injury absenteeism, with Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones back among the team for their victory in the Vitality Stadium previous Timeout.

“I often said it, we have a very good team and if you look at the competition table, the players have shown that the confidence we have in them was correct,” Slot added.

“We don't have many long -term injuries, apart from Trent.

“We had some injury problems with Alisson and Diogo Jota and some others, but at the moment, apart from Trent, they were all available today.

“So there is no reason to add anything to the team, unless you have a chance in the market.

“That is something we saw with the goalkeeper last time [Giorgi Mamardashvili] We brought in because we saw that there was a chance in the market.

“For now we are happy with the team we have.”
