UFC 308 Joe Rogan – Kamala Harris – Interview derailed
During the most recent episode of his podcast by Joe Rogan Experience, the MMA legend responded to claims that he was 'difficult' to deal with.
Rogan explained that he was planned to cover UFC 308 on the day Harris and her team wanted to do their interview.
Former UFC Heavyweight Brendan Schaub, comedian Bryan Callen, and BJJ Wizard Eddie Bravo had flown from California to Texas to watch the Abu Dhabi event with Rogan for a podcast 'Fight Companion'.
“They wanted to do it that Saturday, the day after Trump. I said, “I will do it, but it must be at 8:30 am,” Rogan revealed. “The reason why I had already planned a podcast that was a live UFC podcast. We do this thing called Fight Companion.
“I flew in three of my friends from California and we all went to do this podcast together. We had promised to do this. Like, they were already in the city. I can't just say: “No guys, I can't do this great thing because I have to interview Kamala Harris.”
“It seems that for some people I should, but that's because you are in the political industry and I am an MMA commentator – this is part of my work. I said I would do it, but it must be 8:30 in the morning because I have to be ready by the time the fighting starts. That's reasonable, they didn't do that either. “
Joe Rogan explains the size of UFC 308
As far as Rogan is concerned, UFC 308 was an indispensable map.
Ilia Topuria eliminated Max Holloway in the main event, which was invoiced when two of the best featherweight hunters of all time come together for a historic collision.
The competition was made bigger by the fact that Holloway slept a few months earlier Justin Gaethje to win their UFC 300 BMF title fight with just one second on the clock.
Rogan added: “It was Ilia Topuria vs Max Holloway. Just so that you know that people listen who are not UFC fans, that was a huge fight.
“Max Holloway had just defeated Justin Gaethje as literally the [best] Knockout of all time. Ilia Topuria is one of the absolute best hunters in the world. If not number one pound-for-pound certainly number two or number three, is in the top five of the absolutely best athletes in a weight class.
“So this was a collision of the titans. The biggest featherweight of all time versus the current featherweight champion. I'm not going to miss that!
“You have to understand. I will work around [it]. I come back at night. I'll do it at midnight. I don't give up-I will do it. It wasn't me – anyone left. “
