The UFC champion middleweight tried to copy one of its biggest inspirations
In the main event of UFC 312 this weekend, Dricus Du Plessis will defend the title of middleweight for the second time.
The South African champion will return to the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia for a rematch with Sean Strickland, which he defeated just over a year ago for the title on UFC 297.
We saw in that first fight how the unique styles of both men correspond to the constant attack approach of the challenger who became better about the more defensive champion that night.
The technology of Du Plessis was a big conversation point during his UFC -Run with many colleagues who criticize him because he was not the most competent hunter.
Regardless of what people want to say about the way he fights, it led him to eight consecutive victories at the highest level of sport.

Dricus du Plessis says he tried and failed to pursue Anderson Silva
In a recent interview with Mark Bouris prior to UFC 312, Dricus Du Plessis spoke about some of the prominent hunters who inspired him in his career earlier.
'Stillknocks' also talked about people like Conor McGregor with his approach that led him to be the greatest name in the sport and Mirko CRO agent that he was attracted to because of his K-1 kickboxing background.
Another name that Du Plessis mentioned was Anderson Silva, the former UFC Middleweight Champion who defined the weight class with one of the most iconic title government of all time.
The South African even admitted that, after he had easily viewed his opponents 'The Spider', tried to step into his footsteps, but noticed that he stumbled over them.
“Anderson Silva was the man who,” said Du Plessis.
The highlights of the highlights, you have clearly seen me fight, it doesn't look like Anderson Silva, but I have always tried it … certainly failed. Absolutely failed, as if he just seemed like a video game, so he is one of the greats. “
Dricus Du Plessis has developed his own unique style
Even if you just saw an overview of Du Plessis who competed in the Octagon, many Vecht fans could identify the current middleweight champion.
Every competitor will have his influences, but 'Still Knocks' is one of the best examples of a hunter in the sport that is unique today.
Although that has led to some criticism because his style is certainly unconventional, it also makes it incredibly difficult to prepare.
Sean Strickland is a very defensive hunter, but if Du Plessis does not even know what he will throw at UFC 312 as soon as the octagon door closes, that only makes the work of the Challenger even more difficult.
