Slot not changing approach for Tottenham despite first-leg defeat

Arne Slot says that Liverpool is expected to win every match, but that he will not prepare for their EFL Cup Semi-Final second stage different, despite following Tottenham.

Liverpool dominated the opposite leg in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on January 8, but lost 1-0 thanks to a late goal from Lucas Bergvall, giving Spurs halfway through the benefit.

Since then, the Reds have not succeeded in winning only two of their seven games in all games (W5 D1 L1), to open a six-point gap at the top of the Premier League table and ended at the top of the competition phase in the Champions League.

Liverpool is also unbeaten in their last nine home games in the EFL Cup (W4 D5) and win the last four in a row with an aggregated score of 15-4.

In fact, they have been advanced to the final of two of the last three times that they have lost the first stage of an EFL cup semi-final, who do this in 2000-01 (US Crystal Palace) and 2002-03 (US Sheffield United ).

“I don't think I should prepare them differently for another game,” said Slot. “From now on, until the end of the season and as long as Liverpool exists, you have to win the game.

“We were quite close in the first stage until the last few seconds. Nothing for this game changes compared to everyone else. Only one thing is expected of you – to win the game.”

Liverpool has only lost one of their last 27 home games against Spurs in all competitions (W19 D7) and have been unbeaten in 14 (W10 D4) since a loss of 2-0 in May 2011.

Spurs have lately suffered an injury crisis, with a large number of players from the first team on the sidelines, although Micky van de Ven was re -introduced to the team last week, a recovery that could be vital after Radu Dragusin that one Front cruciate ligament suffers (ACL) injury.

Slot noted that the four -week gap between the first and second legs means that Liverpool will probably be confronted with different tests this time, but it was convinced that his team could turn things around.

“We are confronted with two different players,” Slot added. “I wonder if Van de Ven can play [because] He has a big impact.

“It can change the quality of the team, and we couldn't win [the first leg]So it will be difficult. But we will also be better than the last time. “
