Sean Strickland is insisting that he has no Staph infection
Du Plessis and Strickland met in Sydney, Australia for a press conference before the fight on Thursday.
The champion made it interesting a few hours earlier by making a daring claim about his opponent.
A new photo of Strickland that poses shirtless in its UFC combat equipment has since been circulating online.
It shows the 33-year-old with a blemish on his left arm, who, according to Du Plessis, is a Staph infection.
“What? He got bigger and added Staph infection to his arsenal. Oh S -,” he lifted his position.
Strickland spoke about the rumor that he had a Staph infection at the UFC 312 press conference.

Dricus Du Plessis felt invincible during the first Sean Strickland fight
Du Plessis had to answer a few questions on the way to his first fight with Strickland last year.
In 24 Pro fights he only went to the score cards twice when he defeated Strickland and when he achieved his third UFC victory at Brad Tavares.
The expectation on the way to UFC 297 was that he would soon start Strickland with the benefit later in the fight, but 'Stillnocks' expected this and tried to turn it upside down by staying composed for the first few rounds.
In a recent interview, Du Plessis revealed what he learned about himself from fighting against Strickland on UFC 297.
“When the fourth round came, this is the first time in my entire career that I go to a fourth round,” he said.
“I felt that I was sitting on a cloud, I felt invincible. I felt fresher than before the fight started. I thought, now we can fight and that fourth round was by far my best round.
“I had to prove the world, for myself, that I can go five rounds and go as fast as possible for five rounds.”
