Ruben Amorim has admitted that Manchester United has taken a 'risk' in their transfer window company, but insisted that he would have done things otherwise.
United allowed Marcus Rashford, Antony and Tyrell Malacia on loan, but did not manage to sign in a striker to tackle their lack of goals, despite managing only 28 in 24 Premier League matches this season.
Amorim admitted that he had not signed an attacker, but said that United did not want to repeat the mistakes of the past and repeated his determination to do things in his own way – despite a bad series of results that have lost five of their last six League – competitions.
“What I feel is that the club is taking its time,” Amorim said. “We know the urgency of the moment of the team, but everyone here does not want to make the same mistakes from the past.
“We will see it in the summer, but as I said, we are really careful with transfers because we have made some mistakes in the past. We fight for our jobs until the summer and I am just focused on these games.
“I think a moment is that it is difficult to turn things around in just a few games. It will be so – really difficult until the end of the season, so we take the risk you are talking about.
“We want something else in the team, different profiles, and that is my decision to do that, so we take some risks, but it is the way we want to continue.
“We want to win some games and I always complain to improve the players. I want a certain type of players with a different profile and we change immediately.
“I knew when I chose this profession, that you have the risk of results and I knew that when I came here, I looked at the schedule, I looked at the team and my decision changed everything in the middle of the season, without New signs, was a danger for a coach.
“But I have a clear idea of what I want to do and I take these risks because it will eventually bear fruit. But I am not naive, I said that this is often a sports sport and that we are in a difficult situation. “
