Ruben Amorim admits that he and his players from Manchester United are all fighting for their job between now and the end of the season.
The Red Devils are currently in 13th place in the table – the same place where they were when the Portuguese coach took over in November.
They decided not to bring in a new attacker in the winter window – despite the fact that they have let both Marcus Rashford and Antony go on loan.
Amorim was asked if there was a chance that England Vooruit could return Rashford as soon as his loan period with Aston Villa ended.
He said: “As we said before, we fight for our jobs until the summer. So I'm just focused on these games.
“Fortunately about Marcus, he is now in Birmingham with Unai Emery, so you can bring these questions to another coach. We are simply focused on our players. '
United was connected to movements for Mathys Tel and Christopher Nunku on Deadline Day, but neither arrived.
Amorim knows that he has taken a gamble by continuing with a group of players who have struggled in his 13 Prem games who are in charge – who have resulted in seven defeats.
He said: “I look at the team and I understood my decision to change everything in the middle of the season without new signing sessions – it's a danger for a coach.
“But since day one, with good results or poor results, I have a clear idea of what I want to do and I take these risks.
“I have a clear idea of what I want to do and I take these risks because I eventually think it will eventually pay off.
“But I am not naive, I said that this is often a sports sport and that we are in a difficult situation.”
United has lost five of their last six Prem matches in Old Trafford and are home again on Friday evening – against Leicester in the FA Cup.
Amorim added: “I think a moment is that it is difficult to turn things around in just a few games, it will be, really difficult until the end of the season.
“Then we take the risk you are talking about because we want something else in our team and different profiles, that is my area, so it was my decision to do that.”
To increase his problems, Amorim defenders Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw wounded this week.
Martinez will miss the rest of the season with a cross -blocking problem, while Shaw suffered a small setback, just when he returned from a hamstring.
The United Boss said: “Lich is a difficult situation, he will be out for a while, we don't know the extent of the injury, but it will take time.
“Luke has one small problem in a different area than the last injury, so we try to be careful with him.”
