La Liga clubs demand Real Madrid be punished for pressuring referees

On Thursday, the Spanish football federation organized itself during the meeting with all clubs in La Liga and Segunda, although Real Madrid chose not to be present. Despite the fact that the event “was determined as a way for clubs to express their grievances”, the current La Liga leaders to boycott in the midst of their constant anger at the technical committee of referees, who were also present.

Earlier this week Real Madrid sent a highly formulated letter to the Federation on the back of their controversial 1-0 defeat to Espanyol, in which Carlos Romero, who scored the winner, avoided a red card for a very strong challenge on Kylian Mbappe.

However, it is now the colleague clubs of Real Madrid who are not happy with the entity that is chaired by Florentino Perez. As reported by Diario, they are fed up with the pressure that referees are housed by Los Blancos, in particular by the notorious control videos published on Real Madrid TV.

The report notes that Atletico Madrid and Sevilla, led by Miguel Angel Gil Marin and Jose Maria del Nido Carrasco, were the two clubs that pushed this idea the most, with the rest of the clubs also pleasant because of their position to be fed up Through the actions of Real Madrid.

Sevilla had previously filed a complaint with the Federation about Real Madrid's release of control videos via his television channel, although there was nothing of it. The club sees itself doing nothing wrong with this, so they never admitted despite the growing pressure from Spanish football.

It will be interesting to see if the federation is taking this issue further by going after Real Madrid. It is clear that these videos gradually become a bigger problem in Spanish football.
