Real Madrid star to rebel against expected departure in 2025

Real Madrid expect to complete a deal to sign Alphonso Davies when he becomes a free agent next summer. When that happens, it is certain that Ferland Mendy or Fran Garcia will leave. As things stand, the latter is more likely to leave, although he will aim to improve his chances of staying at the Santiago Bernabeu for the 2025/26 season and beyond.

He hasn't hurt his chances in recent weeks, especially with Mendy's form down from last season. According to Relevo, Carlo Ancelotti and his coaching staff have been impressed with Garcia's efforts in training and believe he has improved significantly from the 2023/24 season, which was his first return to the club.

In terms of squad planning, it would make more sense to keep Garcia or Mendy as he is much younger. His level is also not far off. It could even be better at this point, given Real Madrid's season so far.
