Barcelona has become the fourth and final team that reached the semi -final of Copa del Rey, and they came there in fine style with a crushing victory over Valencia in their quarterfinals.
Hansi Flick chose to bring Eric Garcia, Frenkie de Jong, Fermin Lopez and Ferran Torres to the side that defeated Alaves last weekend, and it was the last to broke the impasse against his former club within the first three minutes. Alejandro Balde's beautifully weighed by the ball found his way to Ferran, who made no mistake up close.
14 minutes later, Ferran received the second of his and Barcelona, while the Catalans wanted to bow their muscles early in the Mestalla. Raphinha was crept into by Pedri before he traveled in Lamine Yamal, whose shot was saved by the goalkeeper of Valencia Stal Dimitrievsky. The rebound fell on Ferran, who made no mistake – the ball was originally excluded for offside, but after a variety it became given.
Fermin Lopez would go to the act shortly afterwards to bring the score to 3-0. Pedri played a beautifully through the ball to his colleague -midfielder and he found an empty just after he had taken the ball around the Rust Dimitrievski. And shortly after that strike, Ferran shot his third of the evening in the half hour to complete a sensational hat trick.
On the timepiece it went 5-0 when Lamine Yamal got into the action. Raphinha laid the ball to the 17-year-old on the right side of the box, and his tame shot dripped somehow past Dimitrievski, whose miserable evening was put together at that time.
Valencia managed to survive the remaining 30 minutes with admittedly, but that is still 12-1 for Barcelona in a total score in the two teams meetings of the past 11 days. Barcelona can now look forward to the semi -final of Copa del Rey, where they are tailored to one of Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid or Real Sociedad.
