Tottenham are branded ‘horrendous’ and ‘worse than Accrington’

Jamie Carragher and Jamie Redknapp tore in Tottenham after they were beaten 4-0 by Liverpool in their Carabao Cup semi-final second stage.

Spurs went in the collision in Anfield with a 1-0 lead of the first stage of last month, but they were torn apart on Thursday evening by Arne Slot.

Despite the resistance of some early edition, Cody Gakpo put the Reds ahead to level the draw in the 34th minute – and from there it was one -way traffic.

Mohamed Salah scored a second from the place just after the break when Darwin Nunez was polluted by Antonin Kinsky, before Dominik Szoboszlai and Virgil van Dijk added the shine to the victory to take care of the next month.

The Reds registered 26 shots, while the side of Ange Postecoglou had not collected any attempt on target because the 17-year-old trophy-dried of the club seems to be going on.

And after the collision, Redknapp was tearing on his earlier side and insisted that it was one of their worst days in recent history.

“(From the Perspective of Liverpool it was fantastic, the way they found out behind them, set it fast,” he said at Sky Sports. “The manager is fine and if you have Salah in front, you get goals every week and Helps you.

'But from the perspective of Spurs, I can't remember a team in my life that I fell with less than a fight as they did today.

'I feel sorry for those young players. Djed Spence played 14 positions tonight, I've never seen anything like that. I would look at the experienced players to lead, they didn't do it a bit. There have been some lows, but that is terrible today. '

Carragher agreed with his colleague and claimed that the defeat was symptomatic of a bad mentality in Tottenham.

“It was never in doubt before the competition,” he added. 'When will Tottenham ever win a big match and do they win against expectations and surprise? The opportunities are huge for Liverpool.

'It's not only this Spurs team, they never shock you. I try to think of the last big match they won … It was probably the Ajax game (in the Champions League in 2019).

'They were very lucky (against Ajax), they were damaged most of the game. When they go to big games, you never think there will win.

“I am not just like a Liverpool fan, none of those Spurs fans would have believed that they would go to Wembley.”

The result contributes to what a bleak season for Spurs has been, with the side of Postecoglou in the 14th in the Premier League after losing 13 of their 24 games.

The Australian has recently come a considerable pressure despite the long letave list of Spurs, and many had claimed that the Liverpool collision, plus the FA Cup trip of the weekend to Aston Villa, was crucial for his future.

And Carragher remained the performance of Tottenham Lammeren and claimed that they were 'worse than AcCHRIMENTON', despite the fact that the League Two Side lost 4-0 last month to the Reds in the FA Cup-Derde Ronde.

“I'm not just saying this for a head,” said Carragher. 'I am thinking of AcCHRington, Liverpool did not play their best team.

'But they gave more, Liverpool caused more a problem and that is not true. It was Liverpool's best team and they gave more against AcCR andTe.

'You think that when promoted teams come to Anfield, they would not play with that fear (who did spurs). They also had a one goal lead. '

He continued: 'That was so easy, it goes back to the stereotype that we all have with Tottenham.

'I loved the Poch (Mauricio Pochettino) team, but there is a mental block with the club.

'It's going back for a long time, even when I was a child. That is a typical Tottenham team. The fans say they have traces back – they have the one we have all looked at for 40 years.

“You never expect them to win anything, it's not a big game, and if they are defeated, it's bad.”

Spurs returns to action on Sunday with the aforementioned FA Cup trip to Villa Park, while Liverpool travels to Plymouth.

The Reds are then confronted with a hectic month before they compete against Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final in Wembley on Sunday, March 16.
