The time to talk has passed with Fight Night just around the corner in Sydney, Australia.
UFC 312 Fight Week comes to an end with the return of the Octagon to the Qudos Bank Arena on 8 February, where Dricus du Plessis and Sean Strickland are confronted in the main event.
The two men bumped back for the first time at UFC 297 in January last year, where the South African challenger brought the middleweight title from Strickland to a quick end.
After they have gone their own way for the rest of 2024, they came together again in opposite roles, because Du Plessis seems to earn his second title defense.
Many words have been exchanged throughout the week with a last face-off for the tone for Saturday evening where they stand against each other for the second time.
Sean Strickland promises Dricus du Plessis a fight until death in the last exchange
After both men were weighed earlier in the day, Dricus Du Plessis and Sean Strickland stared each other one last time to the ceremonial weightings.
It was a tense look between the two headliners with the Sydney -who showed clear support for the challenger who had welcomed him down during his last journey where he became the middleweight champion by beating Israel Adesanya.
When asked to give his thoughts about the fight and the support he received from the Aussie fans, Strickland sent a final message to his opponent.
“I can't wait to go there and try to shorten the life of this man for you f – boys. As always, I appreciate you f—, at the F— Death Dutch man! “
Du Plessis, on the other hand, perfectly continued to play the role of the heel that he did so well in his recent fights.
Earning some cheap heat by comparing the public with the fans of Perth whom he fought for UFC 305, said the champion that, like that night last August, he will get his hand in Australia.
“For so many people, Perth kicks your a -you boe -like losers. Tomorrow night, just like in Perth, I will take your boy out. Enjoy the cheers while you can still do boys. '
Both Dricus du Plessis and Sean Strickland will be prepared for a five -round battle
Dricus Du Plessis and Sean Strickland have already fought five rounds against each other, so that they know what they can expect in their UFC 312 Rematch.
Their first encounter earned battle of De Nacht honors a competition in which both men had periods of success, ending in a split decision judgment.
Du Plessis even says in the promo for the fight that, while he was expecting a difficult fight on that evening in the Scotiabank Arena, he does not believe that Strickland had expected the same thing.
They now both know for sure what was made of each other and it is difficult to imagine that their Rematch is not another competitive fight as long as it lasts.
