Slot’s most inspirational team talk revealed as ‘very special’ Reds boss hailed

The Dutch legend John de Wolf thought he had seen it all in football in almost four decades – until he met Arne Slot.

De Wolf, the former Wolves Cult hero who chose to stay with the Feyenoord coaching staff when Slot left the Dutch club last summer to succeed Jurgen Klopp in Anfield, talked about how an exciting speech from the head boss him so much inspired. He wanted to pull his boots again – at the age of 58.

The 62-year-old revealed how Slot's words about becoming Feyenoord coach in 2022 made him realize that he was working with someone intended for the top.

De Wolf, who worked under manager names such as Rinus Michels, Dick Advocaat, Leo Beenhakker and Graham Taylor during a 17-year-old gaming career, said: “On the first day in Feyenoord, gave Arne a great presentation.

“It was about how he wanted to play football with Feyenoord – and also how he was as a person. I immediately thought: we have a very special person at home.

“I also told him one after a meeting of the coaching staff 'Gaffer, you make me so damn excited, I wish I was a player again.' I just wanted to play football under this manager instead of helping him! “

The wolf is quoted in a new book about Slot's Journey to Anfield called 'Slot Ball'. The Dutchman has the Reds who storms to an unprecedented four -fold.

Liverpool is six points clearly at the top of the Premier League and also have a competition in the hand of the nearest challengers Arsenal.

They defeated Spurs on Thursday evening 4-0 to reach the Carabao Cup final and qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League by surpassing the new format of the 36-Teams Group.
