Sevilla has had a relatively good season so far, and a big reason for this is the excellent form of Dodi Lukebakio. The Belgian winger had a rather quiet first campaign in the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan, but it is in 2024-25 that he is starting to come into his own.
Lukebakio has made up for Sevilla's striker, because he is currently top of the club's score cards with nine (all in La Liga). He hopes to add that count when Barcelona comes to Sevilla on Sunday evening, and given that he has already found the back of the net against Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, he will complete his chances of completing the set.
Given his impressive form this season, it is no surprise that Lukebakio has attracted interest from all over Europe. Juventus is the team that wants to grab him most of Seville, although they were unable to make a deal happened in the recently installed winter transfer window.
Despite their well -documented financial misery, Sevilla is not willing to quickly go out with Lukebakio. According to Diario AS they are not willing to negotiate with clubs that want to sign the 27-year-old, which means that the only guaranteed way is for a sale if his release clause of € 45 million is activated.
Sevilla probably only accepts an amount that is close to his appreciation in installments, instead of the one-off payment that the release clause entails. However, they are clear that they will not let their financial problems play a major role in losing their valued attacker.
It will be interesting to see if Sevilla can hold on to Lukebakio in the summer. For now they will hope that he can continue to produce impressive versions that Francisco Javier Garcia Pimienta can drive to European places in La Liga.
