The 57-year-old MMA icon expressed his conviction that the whole fight was changed by Strickland with a grim broken nose during the first minute of round four.

“” DDP “fought really well, man,” said Rogan.

“It was that big right hand that changed everything … look at his eyes.”

Rogan continued with the consideration of fighting between Du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev and Alex Pereira.

He added: “Dricus du Plessis, ladies and gentlemen.

“He is a tough puzzle to find out. A very heavy fight to find out -he is also a large F -for 185 pounds.

“That is a big F -. He has done a really good job by setting up, throwing that low staircase, switching to the body and kept that pace for the entire five [rounds].

“He's getting better and better.”

What is the next step for Dricus du Plessis?

Du Plessis bumped backstage with Pereira after he called him during his interview with UFC 312.

A fight with the light heavyweight king is logical, but it will not happen quickly as soon as they both have other opponents to deal with it first.

Pereira has been booked to defend his title of 205 pounds against top candidate Magomed Ankalaev on UFC 313 on March 8.

In the meantime, Chimaev is waiting for a shot on gold in the wings since the submission of Robert Whittaker at UFC 308 in October.

Du Plessis has already unveiled his game plan for a potential fight with the 14-0 Russian phenomenon.

“Compare the puncture, oh no, that was the game plan for Strickland, just let me think about something. De Blitz, no, (that was) Rob. Yes, I will just do it, that's the game plan, “he said in his press conference after the fight.”

Du Plessis added: “I want to fight in South Africa and Africa really bad, it is just as a dream of mine as being and keeping the world title.

“The Khamzat fight, no matter how big it is, the international fighting week would clearly be great, but I promise you, what is the international fighting week if I can do this in Africa? I don't even care, I will take a fighting evening in South Africa instead of international fighting week

“In Saudi I certainly take 100%on a PPV in Saudi. I even prefer that. To defeat him and to conquer another place, yes, perfect. '
