UFC analyst ‘feels cheated’ by Sean Strickland after rematch loss at UFC 312

UFC analyst Din Thomas did not stop himself in his criticism after the fight on Sean Strickland after UFC 312.

Former UFC Middleweight Champion Sean Strickland's attempted redemption was a shortage against Dricus du Plessis in the UFC 312 Main Event. After opening a back and forth of the fight, Strickland struggled around pressure and outland du plessis as the fight progressed and eventually lost due to a unanimous decision.

After having promised a 'fight to death' on UFC 312, Strickland's Rematch with Du Plessis did not meet the elevated expectations that the former title holder declared. Halfway through the fight, Strickland suffered a broken nose from a huge du plessis -punch, which influenced his pace in the later rounds.

Anyway, one of the best UFC analysts did not stop Strickland and interviewed his sincerity prior to his fighting.

Din Thomas tears Sean Strickland as 'not that guy' after the loss of UFC 312

During ESPN's UFC 312 Post-Fight Show, analyst Din Thomas went on Strickland because he does not comply with his pre-fighting promises for the du Plessis Rematch.

“We just have to admit it now – we have to admit it: Sean Strickland is not who he says he is,” said Thomas about Strickland. “He is not who he says he is. We want him to be something. He wants to be something. But he's not that guy.

“He is not the man who goes to death. (He says), “Until death.” He didn't go to death. He didn't even go deep. I am not saying that he is not a great hunter. I am not saying he doesn't deserve to be where he is. But he is not who he says he is. We must admit that. (H/T MMA Junkie)

Thomas then doubled in his position by sympathizing with Strickland's corner.

“As a coach I feel for Eric Nicksick because I know what it is like and I don't even want to go and be able to be in that situation again,” said Thomas. “I know I'm hard for Sean Strickland. I know, but it's because I am cheated. I feel cheated by Sean. “

At the moment Strickland has not responded to Thomas' comments. But if his past is an indication of what is to come, he rarely rejects a chance to hit back to his opponents.

Sean Strickland has set up to run it back with a former rival after UFC 312

After two middleweight title losses at Du Plessis, Strickland is on the outside and looks at the middleweight title photo. A third fight with Du Plessis is unlikely, unless Strickland is on a scorching run through the best contenders of the division.

Such a competition is Israel Adesanya, who defeated Strickland on UFC 293 to win the middleweight championship. It was considered one of the greatest disturbances in the UFC history.

Strickland and Adesanya could possibly clash in a rematch after their recent defeats. Adesanya fell through TKO in UFC Saudi -Arabia earlier this month in UFC Saudi -Aarabia to Nassourdine Imavov.

Du Plessis endorsed a Strickland vs. Adesanya Rematch during his UFC 312 Post-Fight Press Conference. Adesanya sat octagonide with one of his other former rivals when Du Plessis retained the title of the middleweight this weekend.

Du Plessis is probably ready for a collision with the unbeaten Khamzat Chimaev for his next defending defense. As far as Strickland and Adesanya are concerned, they are waiting in the wings and have a long way to go to earn another shot at the champion.
