Israel Adesanya has run-in with referee who controversially stopped his latest UFC fight

The former dual UFC champion middleweight and one of the most prominent officials in the game shared a moment backstage.

Israel Adesanya came in his recent octagonal return to Saudi Arabia without exerting too much pressure on itself despite his difficult situation. Regardless of how 'The Last Stylebender' sees things, a loss for Nassourdine Imavov would apparently come out of the title interviews for the near future.

After a considerable start of the fight, Adesanya fell in the second round with referee Marc Goddard who stepped in to wave the main event.

The man who was previously the unmistakable king on 185 pounds protested against the interruption in the immediate aftermath of the fight, but his opinion has changed now that he has been able to or have it.

Israel Adesanya and Marc Goddard show each other mutual respect in UFC 312 Meeting

Israël Adesanya was present for UFC 312 last weekend in the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, where he certainly had a turbulent night.

In a video posted by the former champion on his social media channels, he met Marc Goddard as he walked around backstage.

The two men stopped for a moment to share a short exchange with regard to the fight that took place just over a week ago, whereby the conversation was recorded on video.

Adesanya gave Goddard a lot of praise for the interruption after the prominent official was apologized when their paths crossed.

'Hey, I will tell you one thing, the one in New York, I was like ehh, but this was good, do you know why? I wasn't there. I had moved, but they were all instincts. ”

Goddard answered and made it clear that the feeling is mutual between them.

“I saw a mate. Listen man, I say it all the time, I don't want to stop fighting. Never. I respect you. “

Israel Adesanya is always modest in the defeat

Israel Adesanya has compiled a Pro MMA record of 20-0 before he suffered the first defeat of his career at UFC 259, where he went to the light to challenge Jan Bachowicz.

However, the mentality of 'The Last Stylebender' with regard to setbacks followed him from his kickboxing career where every defeat is a learning experience and an opportunity to think.

Adesanya protested against the cessation of his first fight with Alex Pereira on UFC 281 in New York, as he referred to in the conversation with Goddard, but he did not hold it.

Just like his reaction to the Imavov stoppage, just a week after it happened, the former champion can put the past behind him, view it from a new perspective and then continue.
