Barcelona given promising news on Ronald Araujo ankle injury

Barcelona left Andalusia with three points, a suspension and an injury on Sunday evening, after their 4-1 victory over Seville. The result came thanks to goals from Robert Lewandowski, Fermin Lopez, Raphinha and Eric Garcia, while Lopez would be broadcast only 15 minutes after scoring. In the meantime, Ronald Araujo was the unfortunate victim of injury.

The Uruguayan defender, who has been no stranger to fitness issues in recent seasons, came back from injury himself after only 22 minutes before Pau Cubarsi, after he had started the game next to Inigo Martinez. Araujo damaged himself after escaping a challenge from Saul Niguez and seemed to turn his ankle to run-to-bommige reports after the game spoke about a sprain for the 25-year-old.

That would have kept him outside for at least three weeks if it had been confirmed, but Jeantes says that the news is all positive. Manager Hansi Flick noted after the game that he did not believe that the injury was serious. It seems that no injury has been found. Araujo has swollen around his ankle because of the bruise from the challenge, but no muscle damage, and can be fit to face Rayo Vallecano on Monday evening in their next game, while they travel to Montjuic.
