Three of the largest clubs in Spain have fought for the signature of one of the most promising talents in the country, but it seems that all three end with empty hands, as reports that come from England are accurate. Malaga Talent Antonio Cordero is the freedom to sign a priority currently, and it seems that he is on his way to the Premier League.
Malaga has tried to convince Cordero to stay with them for at least another season to continue his development, after a successful year in Segunda enjoying his hometown club. Los Boquerones reportedly 'made a financial effort' with their contract offer to 'Antonito', which this season has a team of leading ten target contributions (four goals and six assists) for Malaga.
However, they have fought against Real Madrid and Barcelona in recent months. Barcelona made an offer for him last summer, and it was assumed that the ties between President Joan Laporta and Agent Pini Zahavi could facilitate his move to the Catalan capital, which are very interested in him.
Los Blancos believed that they might convince Cordero to switch to the Santiago Bernabeu because of a affection for a boy's year for the ruling La Liga and Champions League champions. DM (via Sport), however, reports that Newcastle United is now confidence to get a deal for Cordero, after discussions between his agents and sports director Paul Mitchell took place on Tyneside. It is part of a strategy shift to concentrate on recruiting young talents in St. James' Park, and Cordero could again be on loan in Malaga next season.
Cordero will probably receive a larger financial package in Newcastle than in Malaga, Real Madrid or Barcelona. It is unlikely that he wants to give up for Real Madrid Castilla or Barca Atletic next season and have questions about his way to the first team.
