Lisandro hits back after Scholes claimed he is not good enough to win the EPL

Lisandro Martinez fired back on Paul Scholes on Instagram after being criticized by the legend of Manchester United.

Martinez – who arrived in Old Trafford for £ 55 million from Ajax in 2022 – is excluded for the rest of the season after a knee injury in a 2-0 defeat by Crystal Palace earlier this month.

But Scholes still took a wipe in the Argentinian center back in the last episode of the overlapping Fandebat, offered by Sky Bet and said, “Even if he is fit, he is not good enough to win the Premier League.”

Martinez has now issued a furious answer to social media.

Martinez went to Instagram on Tuesday evening and wrote: “This Jinx man really hurts … You placed him in Argentina and he would not survive.”

Scholes picked up doubts about Martinez last month because he revealed that he would like to sell him as part of a large rebuilding at United.

Martinez was one of the eight stars of the first team that Scholes was willing to continue, next to the English duo Luke Shaw and Mason Mount.

Scholes has now hit Martinez again, after he was also laid in the middle of the center Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro.

Speaking of De Ligt, Scholes said: 'His (De Ligt's) age (25) and his quantity of clubs already concerns me. He was brilliant in Ajax, he seems to get worse as he gets older. Bayern Munich, Juventus, they let him go for some reason.

'Where are your ambitions? I am talking about getting a team to win the Premier League. Are you going to win the Premier League with De Ligt and Yoro as your center halves?

“You (a fan) said you think they are pretty good. Is pretty good enough? '

He added to Yoro: 'Look, he is a young player, but I didn't like what I have seen so far.

'Have you seen the Southampton game? He is a young player, he is a center that I would keep, if I talk about that backbone and two middle halves. '

Martinez won the Carabao Cup in its first season in United and returned from a injuries campaign to win the FA Cup at the end of the last term.

His fitness has remained a problem this season and it is not expected that he will play again until the last phases of 2025.

But he seems determined to prove Scholes incorrectly after he has been selected by the United Icon.
