Real Betis has hinted that they will try to make Antony's loan permanently in the summer, where Manuel Pellegrini's manager burns a “quality player”.
Antony joined Betis last month for the rest of the season after he had trouble having a lot of impact on Manchester United. The Red Devils came out about £ 86 million to sign him from Ajax in 2022, but Antony only managed 12 goals and five assists in 96 performances for the club.
However, he enjoyed a promising start of life at Betis, with the Brazilian named Player of the Match during his debut and scored in his second performance for the club. Betis' CEO Ramon Alarcon has now revealed that the club is interested in keeping Antony after this season.
When asked about the future of the 24-year-old, Alarcon told the Radio Sevilla of Cadena Ser: “I think so can see that we take care of their property.
“There is a very good chemistry with Manchester [United] And with the player. It is a possibility that he will continue next season, why not? “
Pellegrini has also praised the immediate impact of Antony and stated after his debut: “Well, I think it was a very positive debut. He is a quality player. I spoke with him just before the game. I think a good player doesn't need to do constantly be with the ball with the ball.
“He has to play a good game, make few mistakes and do two or three important things: a goal, a good pass, a good cross. I think he was very involved today, especially with the second goal. He had just arrived one A few days earlier and I think he will contribute a lot to us.
Despite the impressive start of Antony, Betis has had to win since his arrival, with 2-2 pulled with Athletic Bilbao and 3-2 lost to Celta Vigo in his first two games. Speaking after the defeat to Celta, Antony told Dazn: “We started very well.
“We went 2-0, but we have to change our mentality, we have scored two goals, but we have to be focused during the game, the 90 minutes. We have to work to get better.
“We have to change our mentality. We have to start well and end well. We have to work hard, see what we are not doing well to get the three points in the next game.”
