It seems increasingly clear that Barcelona is not planning to see much how the 19-year-old Brazilian forward Vorror Roque is developing in the coming seasons. The Catalan giants seem to be much more focused on earning the € 30 million that they have spent on the teenager, but that is not necessarily a disappointment of the interests of Roque himself.
In loan to Real Betis, in a deal that can extend Betis and then buy 80% of its rights for € 25 million, Roque wanted to try to triumph this season in La Liga. He rejected a lucrative offer for Barcelona from Sporting CP, and the Blaugrana eventually did a loan agreement with Los Verdiblancos.
So far, things have to go completely. Roque won a starting point under Manuel Pellegrini not long after arrival, but has recently started starting the XI in favor of Cedric Bakambu. This season Roque has seven goals and helped twice in his 30 performances, of which 18 started.
In the transfer window of January, Betis then fell € 13 million on the Deadline Day to sign the competition in the form of Cucho Hernandez of Columbus Crew. That is linked to reports that Betis does not intend to extend his loan or to exercise their purchase option.
That in theory made the road free for Palmeiras to make a movement for the end of February, when the Brazilian transfer window closes. O Verdao was more willing to make an offer of € 27 million for 80% of Roque's rights, and earlier this week it was reported that they were willing to close a deal with Barcelona as they were in advance about the end of his could negotiate loan with betis.
Now MD reports that this will not continue: both real betis and Roque are clear that they do not intend to do this.
