Fuming Jamie Carragher rips into Man City fans’ banner mocking Vinis

Jamie Carragher has beaten the fans of Manchester City for their 'ridiculous' banner that Vinicius JR mocked prior to their defeat against Real Madrid on Tuesday evening.

City fans unveiled a gigantic tifo for the dramatic 3-2 Champions League play-off first leg defeat on Tuesday evening, in which Rodri collected the Ballon d'Or prize, with a message with the lecture: 'Stop with your heart too to cry.'

The words were aimed at Vinicius after it was really notorious the event in protest against the Brazilian second behind Rodri – but the stunt in the stands spectacularly chased.

Vinicius helped with Madrid's winning goal at the Etihad – lifting the ball over Ederson before Jude Bellingham poked home – and grabbed the player of the Match Award.

During the analysis of CBS Sports, Carragher asked the fans's decision to stop the banner and suggested the 'Jinxed' Guardiola's side.

He said: 'It's absolutely ridiculous. Why would you do that? What do you win? Why annoy people?

'Do it at the end of the game when you have defeated and beaten them. Why do you get involved? I don't know what you get out of it. '

Carragher's Co-Pond Micah Richards then chimde inside and added: “It's a bit fun among the fans.” Carragher bit back: “Well, it's not funny tonight, right?”

He then continued: 'Let's say that Steven Gerrard had won the Ballon d'Or and we played Real Madrid and he had defeated one of their players [to the award]. That would annoy me. It's like a Jinx. Why end up some of the best players in the world? '

In the meantime, Vinicius claimed that the banner helped to inspire his performance in the night – where he took the player of the Match Award.

“I saw the banner of Man City fans – and it motivated me even more,” Vinicius said. “When rival fans do things, it gives me more power to play a great game.”

Graduated ex-City Academy Brahim Diaz and Jude Bellingham struck in the last minutes to put the draw on his head after Erling Haaland's Double.

The city is now large underdogs that will go to the Bernabeu next week and are confronted with European elimination, whereby their manager is insisting that the Premier League champions will not be competitive for the rest of the season if they do not eradicate late mistakes.

Guardiola ran full -time straight through the tunnel and then publicly stated that his entire staff had to hold their hands for the constant shortcomings.

“It's all of us, not just the players,” he said. 'I have no problem accepting that it doesn't work like in the past.

'For me it would be easy to blame a specific player, but that is ridiculous and does not work.

'The players want it – how they run, how they do it – but the truth is that we are not stable enough at those moments. Today is no exception, it often happened. Today it is what it is, tomorrow you have to continue and have fresh legs and fresh spirits. '
