Kai Havertz: Arsenal striker could miss rest of the season with hamstring injury

Arsenal Fear Striker Kai Havertz was able to miss the rest of the season with a hamstring injury.

Havertz injured his hamstring during a training camp in Dubai and it means that Arsenal now has no recognized strikers that currently fully fit because they offer to close the gap to close the Premier League leaders Liverpool.

The German returned to London with the rest of the team on Tuesday evening and the injury will be assessed on Wednesday and Thursday. Van Mikel Arteta is expected to offer an update on the injury at his press conference on Friday.

Arsenal has already lost Gabriel Jesus for the rest of the season after he had been injured in their FA Cup defeat against Manchester United in their FA Cup defeat.

The Gunners also sustained Gabriel Martinelli for the following month with a hamstring problem in their Carabao Cup semi -final loss against Newcastle.

Arsenal has also been a hamstring problem without Bukayo Saka since December 21 – although the English winger was part of the training team of Gunners in Dubai and was able to return to action in March.

But until that time, Arsenal will have to navigate without a recognized center -forward option -have chosen not to add anyone in that area during the January transfer window.

Arteta revealed the wishes of the club to strengthen in advance and a late bid for Ollie Watkins was rejected by Aston Villa in the last week of January.

'It is a nightmare for Arsenal – season looks almost impossible'

Former Arsenal -striker Alan Smith on Sky Sports News:

Everyone said you could afford to lose something, but you can't afford to lose Kai Havertz.

Because Gabriel Jesus was outside for the rest of the season, I always thought that Arsenal needed a center-forward anyway, even if he, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli were fit. It is a bit of a nightmare for the Gunners when he goes out for the rest of the campaign.

It will now be a case of mixing and matching – Leandro Trossard has played as a false nine, he did it this season. Raheem Sterling may have to be in a way he has done so far. He has been a bit disappointing since he came in.

But it would be difficult for Arsenal in this title push, it was an external chance that they could falter in Liverpool – now it looks almost impossible. For this season you wonder – with what they have – how they can make it a success. The Champions League also looks very difficult.

You could point out the fact that Manchester City won the Premier League without a center-forward, but they had a little more in reserve than Arsenal now has. It is an important point in the season, perhaps a point that has only ended hope and optimism.

Analysis: Where is Arsenal going now?

Sam -Blitz from Sky Sports:

It was the news that Arsenal fans feared in the aftermath of their fruitless transfer window in January. The week after the closure of a market where the Gunners had not strengthened their forward line, Arsenal was able to lose the only peak option on which they counted the rest of the season.

If the task of Arsenal to close Liverpool was difficult, it is now even more difficult. With the side of Arne Slot with Mohamed Salah as the most in -form player in Europe, Cody Gakpo comes up at great moments, plus Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez in the wings – the Gunners come without Armory Lake.

Where is Arsenal going now? With regard to adding, the Gunners can enter the free transfer market to see if there are short -term options. But in reality, if Arsenal was not trading when the market was open, will they really enter the panic mode with the Closed Pan?

The most likely option is to go with what they have – and those options are slim. Arsenal not only has their first two-choice Center-Forwards for the season, they also only have three forward players in their team in Leandro Trossard, Ethan Nwaneri and on-Loan Chelsea Vooruit Raheem Sterling.

All three are contenders to play in their next game against Leicester on Saturday. Trossard played as the No. 9 in the Champions League victory in Girona, while Arteta has branded the no. 9 role as a potential full-time position for Nwaneri in the future, almost the best trips of the 17-year-old widely released.

Sterling is also an option that has played the last few minutes of the 5-1 victory over Man City in that position, plus he has the history of in a central role in England.

But the real place where Arsenal is on its way is regret. How did they end up in this scenario? Their January activity will be examined, but it can also go further back to the sale of Eddie Nketiah and Emile Smith Rowe Plus the loan outputs of Fabio Vieira and Reiss Nelson.

All four would now be needed in this Arsenal team. All the aforementioned reasons left their first choice for three to do with too much. All three are now injured.

Arsenal's injuries in numbers

Arsenal is not the only team that has sustained injury problems this season. In fact, they are currently in the middle of the Premier League table for injuries.

They will not get much sympathy from North London Rivals Tottenham about their current plight.

But it is the severity of the injuries that distinguishes Arsenal from most. Their players have missed almost 650 days because of an injury – and counting – which is far above the Premier League average and the fifth highest is below the top bells.

It is also the type of players that Arsenal is missing, whereby the majority of the injured players of the Gunners attacks options. Saka, Havertz and Martinelli are all out for a while – this is perhaps their first choice for three.

And there are some difficult games on the horizon for Arsenal. They hope to win later this month against Leicester and West Ham – but competitions with Nottingham Forest, Manchester United and Chelsea threaten.
