Chelsea has sustained an important blow with the injury of Nicolas Jackson worse than feared for the first time, leaving Enzo Maresca without a recognized striker in his senior team.
Maresca originally reported that Jackson's hamstring problem was not difficult, even suggesting that they hoped to have him back for their Premier League trip to Brighton on Friday.
However, it is said that a scan has shown on Wednesday that he will at least miss the following month, while he joins the treatment table with his 19-year-old Understudy Marc Guiu.
Both were injured in the Deadline-Day victory of Chelsea in West Ham at Stamford Bridge, while the window closed without the club brought in a new attacker.
Maresca offers an official update on his pre-Brighton press conference on Thursday morning.
Christopher Nunku filled in as a striker in their FA Cup loss for the Seagulls last weekend, where Maresca now has to choose between the use of him and Cole Palmer as a false nine.
In addition to Jackson, Reece James is not depicted in training in Cobham, although Maresca claimed that his absence during their last trip to Brighton was planned in advance.
Jackson is the second highest goal scorer of Chelsea in the Premier League this season with nine in 23 performances.
