The daughter of a Chelsea legend has made her debut for the under-17 side of her national team while continuing to follow her father's footsteps.
Now 42, the Premier League icon spent more than a decade with the blues, in 2004 from the French side Rennes and it went short of 500 performances before moving through London.
After leaving Chelsea, he signed for Arsenal and played 139 times in goal for the Gunners and attracted his famous helmet he had to wear because of an injury that was previously sustained in his career.
While he now continues to get the headlines because of his ice hockey interest and other work in football, his daughter also follows in his footsteps, with the 17-year-old for Fulham and the Czech Republic.
Adela Cechova, the daughter of Petr Cech, debuted earlier this week before the youth side of the Czech Republic against Mexico in the Mima Cup – they will also compete against England and Scotland.
Cechova is, unlike her father, a defender, and her father eventually missed her birth because he was at the Chelsea team prior to a semi-final of the League Cup.
Cechova is described by her coach, Daniel Smejkal, as 'a promising defender' who wants to 'know better' the line -up during the camp in Spain, where the tournament is held.
She came up during the second half of her match against Mexico, although the Czech Republic was on the wrong side of a 3-0 Scoreline.
After missing birth in 2008, Cech told The People Magazine: 'It was the best day of my life and at the same time the most sad. I was happy to be a father and proud of my wife, but sad to have missed the birth.
“My daughter decided that she would come in the middle of the night without being able to do anything, so I had to wait for the phone.”
Cech has two children, who also has a son with wife Martina, and he is indeed a keeper, who is part of the setup under the 15 years of Fulham.
It is the same team as his sister, who became a member of the Club of Andover New Street, who is a side that Cech helped in the past.
According to Czech publication Idnes.cz, Cech does not want one of his children to play for Chelsea.
