Love him or hates him, former middleweight champion Sean Strickland remains one of the most honest and preceding athletes throughout the UFC schedule.
Earlier this week there was an excitement from the Xtreme Couture Gym when head coach Eric Nicksick admitted that he was disappointed in Strickland for the way he fought at UFC 312.
Almost as soon as those comments hit the air waves, you knew it would not be long before 'Tarzan' returned – although removing Nicksick from his corner was not something that many fans saw coming.

Sean Strickland responds to coach Nicksick's comments about UFC 312
Speaking through the Ariel Helwani show earlier this week, coach Nicksick stated that Sean Strickland “should evaluate what he wants to do in the sport”, after his middleweight title loss for Dricus du Plessis last weekend.
“If it only earns money, that's great. Let us know. I want to coach world champions. My motivations are different. Just to appear a kind of appearance and to do that and not really supporting it, was just a little not inspiring for me. “
Nicksick criticized that the performance of Strickland was simply “uninspired” and that he was “disappointed” to have traveled halfway through the world for a half -hearted show of his star preached.
Strickland has now responded to those comments and admitted that it is unlikely that Nicksick will be back in his corner for his future UFC periods.
“I love Eric, he is a friend of mine and he will stay a friend of mine – he will probably be in my corner [again]? Probably not, “he said in an Instagram post.
“We have so many great guys at Xtreme [Couture]Nate [Pettit]Ray Sefo, we wanted so much that I would like myself in Hetikke. But that whole fighting camp was just a struggle. It was finished – – struggle. “
Strickland not only admitted to the rumor test infection, but would also reveal that he had suffered a broken arm in the camp and even had visa issues when the Vechtweek approached.
“We all apologize why we didn't win, or why we won, and we shouldn't have won. We all apologize and they are not f – – there is no out … nothing with Dricus, he came there and fought against his A – off. F— – broke my nose, hell yes. Hats on your moisture as AF – – man. “
After the defeat at UFC 312, Strickland would only drop one place in the ranking (from #1 to #2), although he is already back in the gym training while he wants to return to the winning column.
“I don't fight to lay straps on the wall. I am not f— – fight because Eric wants to get rid of – fancy podcast … via the UFC and Fight fans, you have changed my F – life.
“I still have a lot of fighting on my contract, I love to fight [and] I go back to the gym, work on my A – Off and starting at F – Square One. That's just a bit of how life is. “
Strickland receives an unlikely ally from UFC Fight Night Headliner
Nicksick's comments have divided the MMA community, with a large number of hunters who come out both the past and the present to support Strickland -including half of this weekend's headliner attraction.
During an appearance on MMA today on Sirius XM, Middenweight Competent Jared Cannonier would come to the defense of Strickland; The core of his argument is that fans are bitter that Strickland has not 'killed or killed'.
“I mean, what do we expect from people? He went against a man who can throw hard, we saw the shots he threw. I can hear him throw his shots, you can feel the intention, the energy behind it. You can hear the photos landing, although Sean protected himself against many of them, you can still see the danger in it.
“Everyone is angry with him because they want to see him walking and killing or being killed. F— all of you. You don't pay us to do that -. You pay us to try to be the best hunters in the world and you place us against each other. “
This weekend, Cannonier will be in the Octagon in the main event of UFC Fight Night 251, planned for 15 February in the Apex, against former LFA champion Gregory Rodrigues.
“You can do my A Kiss all from those who have sentiment to fighters,” Cannonier continued with regard to the debate of Strickland's Post-PuC 312.
'If you don't like it, you get a – up, get started and I'll meet you in the Octagon. We will see how easy it is for you to run yourself in a timber camp 'to death!' “
