Jamie Carragher has refuted the suggestions of Ange Postecoglou that there is an agenda against the Tottenham boss.
Spurs are in the middle of a miserable season, with the club 14th in the Premier League 13 of their 24 league games.
They also deposited from both the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup last week, although they will remain in the Europa League after automatic qualification for the last 16 phase.
During the difficult run, which came in the midst of a serious injury crisis, the Australian repeatedly defended himself and insisted that the absent is the most important factor in the struggle on his side.
After their 2-1 defeat by Aston Villa on Sunday, he even hinted that there is an 'agenda' to have him dismissed as Tottenham Boss.
Carragher, however, hit back with the Australian and said that although the injuries played a role, the struggles under his leadership could be clearly seen.
Carragher emphasized how Spurs 25 of their last 52 Premier League matches lost after they had hit the top of the table at the beginning of the 2023-24 season with eight victories from 10.
That was before Spurs a dramatic 4-1 defeat of Chelsea suffered, where Postecoglou, despite being reduced to nine men, continued to play an extremely brave High-line, although his side was repeatedly exploited.
Carragher pointed to that game and said there were 'warning' signs before the start of their decline.
He said: “These destructive statistics (25 of 52 matches) absorb poor performance before and after the recent horrible lettuce list, which, depending on your belief in the manager, is partially or fully responsible for the current problems of Tottenham.”
Carragher also hinted that the playing style of Postecoglou had contributed to the long lecture list of Spurs, while criticizing his lack of adaptability.
“In this situation you cannot unload the injuries from the playing style,” he added. 'Their principles are the same in all circumstances, whereby they have the players to the players to continue to press high, regardless of the situation and to score.
“The reality is this: if you are insisting to ride only in the fast lane, your tires will carry faster.”
Carragher continued: 'Spurs make it too easy for the opposition. Their mistakes were even identifiable, even with their first-choice defense on the field, so the idea that it all clicks in place as soon as the cavalry returns is optimistic.
'The Premier League consists of 20 of the top coaches that work in world football. It is incomprehensible that every coach will not appreciate how and where his rival will try to exploit mistakes and act accordingly.
“That is why saying” This is what we do “alarm bells. Sometimes you have to appreciate that what you want to do will not work. It may only be a few minutes, but being able to read how a game is going or can go is a condition for Top class management? '
Carragher claimed that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is right to stay with Postecoglou until his players return to fitness before he categorically denied that there was an 'agenda against Postecoglou'.
Spurs returns to action on Sunday afternoon when they organize Manchester United in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
