Slot and Carragher disagree as Arsenal and Man Utd sent new £65m message

Arne Slot has praised Manchester United and Arsenal target Matheus Cunha while he did not agree with Jamie Carragher's verdict about the wolves striker.

Cunha was supposed to be on the radar of both United and the Gunners in January. Instead, the 25-year-old brought his future to Wolves by signing a contract extension until 2029.

Nevertheless, speculation about his future will probably be recovered this summer, because it is understood that Cunha's new deal contains a release costs of approximately £ 65 million. He is also connected to Tottenham and Chelsea.

Cunha, who charmed Gunners fans earlier this season by posing for photos outside the Emirates, is now focused on the journey from his side to Anfield on Sunday when he could do the side of Mikel Arteta a big favorite in the title race.

Prior to the game, Slot issued a glowing verdict on Cunha and said: “Cunha is a quality player. He has the opportunity to play for one of the top five teams in England.”

That does not match Sky Sports Pundit Carragher, who suggests that the former Atletico Madrid attacker is not worth the renowned price tag.

The former defender of Liverpool recently said: “He is a good player, but I would not pay £ 65 million for him. I am not sure where he would play for Arsenal.”

In the meantime, Arteta has been left, taking into account free agents to strengthen his attacking options after Kai Havertz was affiliated with the long list of absent, with a seasonal injury during the club's training camp in Dubai. Asked if he would consider signing a free agent, the Gunners said: “We will explore every possible situation and make a decision.”

While Arteta remains open -minded about free transfers, finding a suitable player who is able to make an impact on a title hunt seems to be a challenge. One of the few controversial free agents is ex-Arsenale Ster Carlos Vela, who is now 35.
