Barça to PSG was never the plan for Neymar, says father
Neymar is recovering from a new injury and his father hopes he can make it to the next Club World Cup.
Neymar is currently injured and hopes to recover in time to play in the new FIFA Club World Cup. His contract runs until 2025 and his father spoke about his future on the Roundcast podcast.
Neymar is free to decide
“Let's wait and see what happens and how Neymar really feels. He will be free to decide. We've never been freer to choose where we go, and having a 32-year-old free agent in hand is a gift for any businessman.
His father also emphasized Neymar's focus on playing in the new Club World Cup.
“All the top clubs will be there and Al Hilal has earned its place in this championship. They already have one of the biggest stars they could ever have, someone with experience in these types of tournaments.
“That's why they didn't let go of Neymar's second year of contract.”
PSG was never Neymar's plan
Finally, he reflected on the most important steps in Neymar's career:
“We never made plans. The only plan was to go to Barcelona. The rest… PSG was a whirlwind, it became a storm, and before we knew it, he was gone. Also Al Hilal. These were things that just happened. And today Neymar has a contract until 2025. We don't know anything else. I see the speculation and we started preparing for it. I know the market is watching him recover, but he always comes back better than before. This time it will be no different.”
