Greenwood precedent gives Bellingham hope of avoiding La Liga suspension

Real Madrid continued to rumble about the decision of referee Jose Luis Munuera Montero to send Jude Bellingham during Saturday's draw against Osasuna. The English midfielder would have said “F *** U” to the civil servant, although he claimed that this was not the case and that it was a disagreement.

It turned out to be a very precious dismissal as Real Madrid, who at the time led 1-0 with thanks to the early goal of Kylian Mbappe, were fed back in the second half by the punishment of Ante Budimir. Moreover, Bellingham is on course to give a suspension of two or three games, with the final decision that must be taken by the Competition Committee of the Spanish Football Federation in the coming days.

Real Madrid is expected to appeal to Girona, Real Betis and Rayo Vallecano.

According to Diario AS, Mason Greenwood was sent away last season during Getafe's 2-0 defeat to Rayo Vallecano because he said 'F *** You' to referee Jorge Figueroa Vazquez, although it was later confirmed that it had been a MistranSlace. As such, the Competition Committee ruled in favor of the then Lennee of Manchester United, who had immediately withdrawn his suspension.

Bellingham will hope that his case follows the same pattern as that of Greenwood. Real Madrid must have desperate the midfielder available for their upcoming La Liga matches, given that they are now profitless in their last three games in the competition. If the profession is not successful, Carlo Ancelotti would probably rely on the services of Brahim Diaz or Arda Guler as a replacement for the Englishman.
