De Ligt: This is not good enough for United

Matthijs de Ligt says that the Manchester United level is currently on performance or status of the club.

Despite the fact that the Ruben Amorim team had many opportunities, a narrow 1-0 defeat in Tottenham fell on Sunday, with frustration the most important emotion to get out of the game.

United had good spells in the game, but just couldn't find it and after the earlier finish of James Maddison it was Ange Postecoglou's side, which all three points removed from the meeting.

Speaking after the match against Mutv, De Ligt explained what the Reds was missing on the day, and in different games this period.

De Ligt: we have to stay together

Matthijs de Ligt says that United should improve in many areas if we want to get more positive results soon …

“I think ending the opportunities is a big thing in football and we were out of luck that we couldn't finish them today,” he said.

“If you lose, there must be a lot of improvement. We are not where United belongs and if I knew the solution, I would have said it and we would win games, but we have to improve a lot and we have to look at ourselves to be responsible.

“We have to stay together, because if we are alone, we would never get results.”

The gathering that Matthijs refers is clearly in 2024/25, for example when the Reds Diep grooves to take Arsenal in the Emirates FA Cup on punishments, even though they are up to 10 men.

De Ligt hopes that the hard work he and his teammates do on the training field with Amorim and his staff will rather fruit instead of later.

“It's not enough for United. We don't gain enough or score enough opportunities. We give too many goals,” he added.

“There are many things that we have to improve and hopefully it will get better soon.”
