Luke Rockhold backed to beat Sean Strickland by former champion after UFC 312: ‘He’s a robot’

Former UFC champion TJ Dillashaw went one step further in his harsh criticism of the performance of Sean Strickland on UFC 312.

Sean Strickland is still flooded with criticism of his main scitching show in his UFC 312 Rematch with Dricus du Plessis. After promising a 'fight to death', Strickland struggled with a consistent output on UFC 312 and lost through a unanimous decision in a similar show as their first collision.

From this letter, Strickland has now been firmly out of the middleweight title mix while Du Plessis is preparing for a likely confrontation with Khamzat Chimaev for his next defending defense. In the aftermath of UFC 312, Strickland plagued by his old Hoekman, after his head coach publicly criticized his lack of effort in the cage.

Before Luke Rockhold made his long-awaited UFC decay on UFC 278 against Paulo Costa, the former champion and strickland were planned to meet at UFC 268 before they withdraw due to an injury. Although the matchup has not been converted, Rockhold and Strickland have stayed outside the cage in recent years.

At the chance that Strickland and Rockhold Battle in the UFC Octagon in the future, TJ Dillashaw believes that it would be a Cakewalk for Rockhold after viewing Strickland's newest performance.

During a recent episode of the Jaxxon Podcast, Dillashaw explained why he believes that Rockhold Strickland would dominate in a potential fight.

“The Sean we look in this fight, Luke, gives birth to him,” said Dillashaw. “Sean, for whatever reason, was as a shooter. He is a volume hunter and for whatever reason he throws one puncture at the same time. He throws one push staircase at the same time. He does not put combos together. He does not give up, he does not move his F- Head. He is a robot. He stood upright for a long time and threw a shot the whole fight.

“I think Sean would hopefully evolve in this fight and I thought he looked worse than the first.” (H/T MMA Knock -Out)

After UFC 312, Rockhold accused Strickland of 'in principle stop' after a broken nose medium fight. At the moment Strickland has not responded to the recent comments from Dillashaw of Rockhold.

After he fell to Costa on UFC 278, Rockhold chose not to draw again at the UFC, so he eventually appeared in bare knuckle FC and Karate fights. Rockhold won his Karate Combat debut about Joe Schilling last April by TKO in the third round.

Before Strickland fell to Du Plessis in the UFC 312 headliner, Strickland went back to the title by beating Costa on UFC 302 in June. Fresh from the UFC 312 debacle, a timeline for the next fight of Strickland is uncertain, but he will probably return somewhere this summer.

While their feud escalates, Strickland and Rockhold could possibly meet in the Octagon if Rockhold returns to the UFC schedule. But for now Dillashaw are the side of Rockhold as the two former middleweight title holders.
