Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea are all closer to knowing who they will be confronted with in the next round of their respective European competitions.
The Premier League trio all booked their spots in the last 16 of the Europa League of the Conference League thanks to their efforts in the new Fangled League phase.
Man Utd and Spurs both ended in the top eight of the Europa League League phase and as a result bypassing the need to participate in a play-off round to reach the last 16 actual.
Instead, they wait for their opponents in the next round, with one of the winners of the play-offs that stand on each side.
Thanks to United and Spurs, they finish next to each other – third and fourth respectively – they are placed on either side of Friday's draw.
That means they have known for some time that they would each take one of the real Sociedad, Galatasaray, AZ Alkmaar or Midtjylland.
And after the conclusion The Play -off round, those four potential opponents are limited to just two – AZ Alkmaar and Real Sociedad.
The Dutch side AZ Alkmaar has aggregated Galatasaray 6-3 to book their place in the last 16, while Real Sociedad had a close-run affair about two legs against Midtjyland but still ended up on the top 7-3.
That means that Spurs and United will be pulled against one of Sociedad and Alkmaar.
For example, if Spurs draws Sociedad, United will take on AZ Alkmaar – the Prem Rivals cannot play each other.

Tottenham has already become from AZ Alkmaar this season and defeated them 1-0 during the competition phase of the competition.
A second half of Richarlison turned out to be the difference between the two parties in October when Alkmaar had sent a man in the late stages.
