
UEFA will make an exception to their guidelines of the same cities by having Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur play to play their European ties in London next evening next month.
Mail Sport was told that the relevant authorities have given the green light for both home games to continue on Thursday 13 March prior to their respective draws on Friday.
Chelsea and Tottenham have reached the round of 16 in the Conference League and Europa League respectively and are planned for home advantage in their second legs.
The UEFA rules define a 'collision' such as when two clubs cannot compete on the same day because they are the same stadium, the same city or in cities within a radius of 50 km. Stamford Bridge and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium are approximately 16 km apart.
In anticipation of Thursday evening's play-off tires, Chelsea knew that they could be pulled with real betis, Ghent, Copenhagen or Heidenheim in the Conference League, while Tottenham is confronted with AZ, Galatasaray, Midtjyland or Real Sociedad in the Europa League.
The final confirmation of the data for their house and out of legs is expected on Friday afternoon as soon as the draws are made. The Champions League is planned for 11 a.m., Europa League at noon and Conference League at 1 p.m.
