Amorim says Man Utd have ‘more problems than solutions’

Ruben Amorim sees “more problems than solutions” in the recent performances of Manchester United, while the Red Devils are preparing for their former boss David Moyes.

United approaches the journey from Saturday to Everton One Place and a point under the toffees in the table, sitting 16th after losing three of their last four league games.

Amorim has taken only 14 points of the same number of Premier League matches at the helm (four wins, two draws, eight defeats), and the former sporting CP boss stated that his job is “so difficult” after the 1-0 defeat of the previous one Week against Tottenham.

Amorim has repeatedly said that he will not change his methods after seeing United Battle in his 3-4-3 system, and he admits that signs of progress have been too rare.

“What I feel is that sometimes you don't feel any improvement in the team, but some games you think we can play and make situations,” Amorim told BBC Sport. “That's a good thing.

“At the moment, when you look at the games, you see more problems than solutions.

“That is clear. If we play some games, I see things there are things and we are capable of, but we must be consistent.”

Amorim's profit percentage of 28.57% is by far the worst of the 11 men who took the lead over United in the Premier League, either on a permanent or interim basis.

The legendary Alex Ferguson is the first among that group with a profit percentage of 65.19%, and Everton boss Moyes is halfway through that list and wins exactly 50% of his 34 games that are in charge in 2013-14.

Asked about the fatal spell of Moyes at Old Trafford, who came in the aftermath of Ferguson's retirement of 2013, Amorim said: “It shows that it is a difficult job.

“But we must try to understand history.

“This club had a figure that you cannot replace in Sir Alex Ferguson, and then it is a tough task to do it. Everything was connected to one person.

“When that person leaves, it's really difficult. He [Moyes] Does the great job and did a great job at West Ham. He is a coach who is difficult to win matches. “
