Jude Bellingham: Carlo Ancelotti says Real Madrid will appeal to reduce England midfielder’s two-game ban

Carlo Ancelotti says that Real Madrid will rely on reducing the length of the prohibition of Jude Bellingham after his broadcast against Osasuna.

The international of England received a straight red card last Saturday for error and insulting language during a 1-1 draw and received a suspension of two games.

The Spanish football federation (RFEF) has already rejected a profession to reverse the ban, but Ancelotti said that Real will now try to reduce the punishment.

“We have to respect the decision,” Ancelotti told a press conference.

“That said, the club will appeal to an attempt to reduce the number of games he will miss.

“Someone else will play tomorrow. We have been able to pick up good results without Bellingham and we can do that tomorrow.”

Real Madrid is second in Laliga on the way to Sunday's meeting with Girona in the Bernabeu, but level at 51 points with competition leaders Barcelona.

They will want to build on at their momentum after removing Manchester City from the Champions League with a 3-1 win on Wednesday.

Ancelotti said: “This game comes at a hugely important moment in the season. We have given a good report of ourselves against Manchester City and we want to see a repeat of it.

“We have reached a point where we cannot afford to slip. Laliga is very tight and every game can be crucial to make the end of the campaign in a good position.”
