Boxing Results: “Iron” Mike Tyson Loses to Jake Paul

In the Main Event, former world heavyweight champion “Iron” Mike Tyson returned to Jake Paul's ring after nineteen years at the age of 58 at AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas, Friday via NETFLIX, in front of a crowd of 72,300.

In the Co-Main Event, former Olympic gold medalist, current WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF and IBO Super Lightweight Champion Katie Taylor won an exciting close decision over IBO, WBA and WBO Featherweight Champion Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano that fans seemed to largely disagree with.

Mike Tyson, 50-7 (44) lost to Jake Paul, 11-1 (7) via Cleveland, Ohio, over 8×2 rounds.

In the first round, just over a minute into the fight, Tyson rocked Paul with a right chin to the chin, putting him on the defensive, leaving Tyson in a cinch. With half a minute left, Paul landed his best punch of the round, a right to Tyson's chin. In the second round, Tyson continued to come forward, supporting Paul throughout the round and landing more punches in a round of single punches.

In the third round, Tyson came out throwing bombs, while few landed. A minute into the round, Paul landed several hard punches, hurting Tyson. Paul had a big round that left Tyson off balance. In the fourth round, Tyson continues to have problems with his mouthpiece while Paul keeps that jab in his face. In the final minute Tyson rarely landed a punch as he would move away from Paul who had another good round.

In the fifth round, Tyson landed a left hook on Paul's chin near the end of a minute. He landed shortly after, while Paul landed an overhand right to the chin in the last thirty seconds. In the sixth round, Paul used his jab and didn't throw any big punches, while Tyson threw a few punches. In the last minute the fans wanted more action.

In the seventh round, Tyson started throwing more punches in the first minute than in previous rounds. In the final minute, Paul defeated Tyson until the bell. In the eighth and final round, Paul got his way. In the final seconds, Paul stopped and bowed his head in honor of Tyson acknowledging it.

Referee Mark Ca-loy. The scores were 80-72 and 79-73 twice.

In the Co-Main Event in a rematch (Taylor won a split decision over Featherweight Champion Serrano), former Olympic Gold Medalist, current WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF and IBO Super Lightweight Champion Katie Taylor, 24-1 (6) fought to a exciting final decision over IBO, WBO, WBA Feather southpaw champion Amanda 'The Real Deal' Serrano, 47-3-1 (31) over 10×2 rounds.

In the first round, in the closing seconds, an overhand left hand from Serrano to the chin left Taylor hurt and on wobbly legs. In the second round, Taylor, who returned after a year, came back strong, landed punches and tied up Serrano enough to defeat Serrano and win the round.

In the third round, Serrano defeated Taylor, who came back in the final seconds. In the final minute of the four rounds, a clash of heads left a cut on Serrano's right eyebrow.

In the fifth round Taylor came back and won the round. In the sixth round, with a minute remaining, a clash of heads caused referee Jon Schorle to call in the ring doctor due to the cut on Serrano's left eyebrow. In the seventh round, Taylor had good lap landing combinations on Serrano's chin.

Schorle warned Taylor about using her head. Towards the end of the round he took a point from Taylor that didn't really look good.

The war continued in the ninth round, with the referee intervening prematurely several times. It was a good round for Taylor.

In the tenth and final round, Taylor had a big final minute to win the round, as Serrano's blood-stained face showed just how tough the fight was. Taylor may not have done enough to win the fight because he lost a point earlier. Taylor suffered a cut to the right eyelid at the end.

The scores were 95-94 by all three judges.

WBC Interim World Welter champion Mario 'El Azteca' Barrios, 29-2-1 (18), finished in a thrilling split draw with Abel Ramos, 28-6-3 (22) over 12 rounds, for the WBC world title.

In the first round, Barrios controlled it with his jab. Midway through the round, Barrios landed a right to the chin that bent the knees of Ramos (who was in his second title fight after losing a split decision to Yordenis Ugas for the vacant WBA title) whose right glove may have hit the canvas, but it didn't a knockdown called by referee Afu. In the second round, the taller (4”) Barrios continued to do his thing. In the final seconds, a left hook followed by a right hook went from Barrios on the chin and down to Ramos (fifth time in his career), who immediately got up and took an 8-count from referee Hector Afu.

In the third round, Ramos recovered well from the knockdown, but Barrios won the round. In the fourth round, Barrios continued to defeat Ramos, who finished with a four-punch combination against Barrios, but suffered a small cut on his left eyebrow.

In the sixth round, midway through, Ramos suddenly took the lead and followed up with a right to the chin of Barrios, who was hit with an eight-count left strike by referee Afu on the way down. Barrios stood on shaking legs, listening to the bell. On the seventh lap, Ramos controlled while Barrios recovered well.

In the eighth round, Ramos supported Barrios all round and defeated him. Midway through the ninth round, Ramos drew blood from Barrios' nose and took another round. In the tenth round, after a minute, Barrios drew blood from Ramos' nose. A good round for Ramos.

In the eleventh round, Barrios' face swelled, but he cut Ramos halfway under the left eye and took the round. In the twelfth and final round of an excellent fight, Barrios managed another close round when Ramos' left eye almost closed.

Scores 114-112 Ramos, 116-110 Barrios, 113-113 a draw.

Center Neeraj Goyat, 19-4-2 (8), easily defeated, debuts Whindersson Nines, 0-1 (0), over six rounds.

In the first round, Goyat, with his hands at his sides, overwhelmed Nines, who was making his debut. With thirty seconds left, Goyat rocked Nines with a right to the chin. Nunes, whose nose has been very red since the end of the first minute, took a few blows. In the second round, Nunes landed his first solid blow, a right uppercut to Goyat's chin. Goyat, now mostly with his hands up, continued our work, Nines, who was on the receiving end the entire time.

In the third round, Goyat landed a series of punches, sending Nunes across the ring into a corner. In the closing seconds, Nunes landed a double left hook to the body, hurting Goyat. In the fourth round, Goyat would throw half a dozen punches without returning in the first minute.

In the fifth round, Goyat continued to land in spurts against the much inexperienced Nunes. In the final minute of the sixth and final round, it was all Goyat landing punch after punch and supporting Nunes throughout the round.

Former WBC Silver Super Middle champion Shadasia 'The Sweet Terminator' Green, 15-1 (11) won a split decision over Melinda 'The Whip' Watpool, 7-1 (2) over 10×2 rounds, for vacant WBO World Super Middle title.

In the first four rounds, Green landed Watpool, who added eight pounds for this fight. In the eighth round Watpool had her best lap. In the fifth and sixth, Green continued to take it to Watpool.

In the ninth round Watpool did well again in a close round. On the tenth and final lap, Green looked in front and Watpool knew it was the aggressor.

Light 'Prince' Lucas Bahdi, 18-0 (15), won a majority decision over Armando 'La Furia del Quadraro, Casamonica, 14-1 (3) by ten-round decision.

In the first two rounds Casamonica was the aggressor, but was countered by Bahdi in close rounds. In the third and fourth rounds, Bahdi held firm in finishing Casamonica.

Casamonica came back well in the sixth round. In the seventh through ninth rounds, Bahdi Casamonica landed. In the tenth and final round it was exciting and both had their moments.

Feather Bruce 'Chu Chu' Carrington, 14-0 (8), defeated Dana Coolwell, 13-3 (8) over eight rounds.

In the fourth round, Carrington scored a knockdown and received an 8-count from referee Jon Schorle. In the eighth round, Carrington scored his second knockdown and received an 8-count from referee Schorle.

The scores were all 80-72.
