Kompany lauds ‘hungry’ Bayern after Eintracht thrashing

Vincent Kompany praised the “hungry” reaction of Bayern Munich after ending a two-game windless series with Sunday's 4-0 Thrashing by Eintracht Frankfurt.

Michael Olise, Hiroki Ito, Jamal Musiala and Serge Gnabry were all on goal when Bayern recovered their eight-point advantage at the Bundesliga summit with a crushing victory over the third placed Eintracht.

The side of Kompany was held by defending champion Bayer Leverkusen in the competition before their midweek Champions League -similar play with Celtic who sent them to the knockout phases.

A comfortable victory over Eintracht, which only collected two shots on goal in the Allianz Arena, was the perfect response to those draws in the eyes of Boss Kompany.

“Now we have won, but we will remain calm as we did in recent days [after the two draws]”Kompany told a press conference.

“The few days that led to the competition that we thought was sharper. There were many reasons for us to get a result today.

“The intensity of both sides was quite high from the start and we managed to tilt the game to our advantage. The players showed that they were hungry.

“The effort, the enthusiasm – it was all there. Our goal is always to bring that to the field. And now we go quietly to the next game, where we want to win again.”

Bayern did not succeed in scoring in their draw with the side of Xabi Alonso, who pursues in second place, before they grab a final Gasp-Leveler thanks to the goal of Alphonso Davies against Celtic.

However, Eintracht offered little in the way of resistance, with Bayern who hit 12 shots on target and 4.01 gathered expected goals in a one -sided collision.

However, the victory can be expected, given the side of Kompany now 43 times at home Eintracht has defeated in Bundesliga Action, most such victories from one side against another in the history of the competition.

“It is clear that a victory of this way is much more fun,” Bayern veteran Thomas Muller added. “We feel how games are going and how it feels.

“In this phase of the season it is only the results that count.

“But of course you also want to go home and say,” Wow, today we were really good. ” We deserved to win and played with high intensity. “
