Tottenham star James Maddison has revealed that he had contact with New England manager Thomas Tuchel.
Tuchel is preparing to name his first English team for the coming world cup qualifications at home in Albania and Latvia.
Maddison, who has seven caps for England, wants to be part of the team, but acknowledged that Tuchel has a large number of players to choose from.
“He touched the basics,” said Maddison. 'I think he had contacted many players who would be in the selection, probably a fairly large pool of players who identified the FA.
“I'm hungry to be part of it. I feel that I am in good shape, my songs are pretty good, there are not too many midfielders who can score and surpass me.
'Especially now if I feel good and feel sharp. I know I can influence the most games. It's just about keeping doing that. As I always say, if I play for Tottenham at that level, the rest will take care of themselves because I have a really strong self -confidence. '
After recovering a calf problem, Maddison scored the only goal in Tottenham's 1-0 win at home at Manchester United.
Maddison then succeeded with an assist when Tottenham won 4-1 away to Ipswich.
Last summer Maddison was mentioned in the provisional team of England for Euro 2024, but was not selected for the tournament by Gareth Southgate.
Maddison admitted that he had been destroyed after his admission of the team.

Maddison made his English debut against Montenegro in November 2019.
An unused member of the team at the 2022 World Cup, Maddison only played again for the Three Lions until 2023, but now would like to become a key figure.
