Real Madrid went into the season with little in the way of the team depth, past their forward line after the signing sessions of Endrick Felipe and Kylian Mbappe. However, they are already planning to do more business this summer.
One of the signing sessions that they are predicted is that of Trent Alexander-Arnold, of which they are convinced that this summer is free from Liverpool at the end of his contract. Los Blancos missed Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies, who was in the same situation until earlier this month when he wrote a new deal.
According to Cadena Ser, two more deals will be completed than that of Alexander-Arnold. Real Madrid has return options on Girona left-back Miguel Gutierrez and como game maker Nico Paz this summer and are planning to activate that clause. Both are expected to start the preseason in Real Madrid kit, but a decision has to be made about whether they will be part of the team of the first team. If they are not, then Los Blancos will try to sell with a profit or use them as exchange agreements.
Real Madrid has a buyback option of € 9 million valid for both players for this summer, and also retains a sales percentage of 50%. In the case of Paz, he was reportedly viewed by Inter and Arsenal, among others for this coming summer. Gutierrez has also been on the shortlist of a number of top clubs since last season, including Liverpool, Arsenal and Bayern Munich, after he had enjoyed a good outbreak season with Girona last year.
The potential Paz has made him an intriguing prospect, but he is confronted with a lot of competition for places at the sharp end of the field in Real Madrid. In the meantime, Gutierrez could strive for a starting point at the left back, where neither Ferland Mendy nor Fran Garcia are convincingly convinced as in the long term.
