Thomas Tuchel holds talks with Arsenal star Ben White over shock England recall after three-year exile from squad

Ben White had conversations with Thomas Tuchel about a potential return of England.

The court back of Arsenal has not played for the Drie Lions since March 2022 after an alleged fight with former assistant Steve Holland on the Qatar World Cup.

Since then, White, 27, has registered from the selection for the National Team – the run to the Euro 2024 final in Germany under Gareth Southgate last summer.

But Tuchel – who officially started working as England -Sbaas – on 1 January after his appointment of October 2024 – made contact with White to determine if he should include him in the World Cup qualifying team next month.

England will be confronted with Albania on March 21 before he will take it to Latvia on 24 March.

The German coach Tuchel spent the first seven weeks of his regime attending more than 20 live games throughout Europe and spoke to players or video calls personally – including White.

Speaking at the World Cup in 2026 in December, Tuchel confirmed that he would reach White and that has now happened.

It is unknown what was said in the chat of the couple, and whether Arsenal would allow the player to participate in England, who has just returned from a three -month dismissal after a knee operation.

But Gunners -Baas Mikel Arteta said in March 2024: “As a manager I want the best for him, personally and professional, and he really has to feel it.

“Hopefully he is willing to represent his country in the best possible way in one day. That would be the best option for everyone. But that is completely up to him. “

White would compete with people like Kyle Walker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Reece James and Tino Livramento, but offers great versatility as a right back, middle and midfielder.

He has four caps and made his senior debut on June 2, 2021 in a pre-euro's friendly against Austria. He was not included in the last team for a late call-up for the wounded Alexander-Arnold.

In the World Cup of England, White left for 'personal reasons' without making a single appearance – a remark was later imposed on that Holland made him for the rest of the team.

Upon his return to play for Arsenal, White was abused of stands in the Premier League with songs of: “You abandon your country.”

After the Euro 2024 Final 2-1 defeat against Spain-Bewrukte later, Southgate-Die was later dismissed that it had nothing to do with the relationship of the player with Holland.

James Maddison is one of those who also hope for a recall in England, while Crystal Palace -Baas Oliver Glasner encouraged the new boss to give Ebereechi Eze a place in the team.

Speaking after Saturday's victory over Fulham, Glasner said: “I know him for a year now and he has a lot of potential. If he shows this, he has the potential to become a starter for England.

“In recent weeks and months he has had some struggles with injuries and it is now to support him to get back to his best form.”
