Galatasaray announce legal proceedings against Jose Mourinho for alleged racist comments

Former Real Madrid and Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has always been a manager who has troubled his press performances, but the Portuguese are now confronted with serious accusations in Turkiye. After another heated Derby meeting between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, the last represented by Mourinho, Galatasaray announced legal steps against him.

Turkish football has been struck in recent months by controversy, in the midst of accusations of corruption and heated explanations from some of Turkiye's giants against Galatasaray. The Turkish football federation has even brought Referee Slavko Vincic from abroad to guarantee impartiality for the great collision.

The match ended 0-0 between the two giants and maintained a six-point gorge at the top of the super-like Galatasaray. After the game, Mourinho had the following to say, as quoted by Sport.

“Again, I also have to thank the referee. The Galatasaray bank jumped like monkeys after every dive, and it was the right decision. If it had been a Turkish referee, it would have been a complete disaster. Not long after Galatasaray had emitted a club statement.

Since the start of his management tasks in Turkiye, Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho has constantly issued derogatory statements aimed at the Turkish people. Nowadays his discourse has escalated further than just immoral comments in unambiguously inhuman rhetoric.

We formally explain our intention to initiate criminal proceedings with regard to the racist statements of Jose Mourinho and will submit official complaints accordingly to UEFA and FIFA. Furthermore, we will diligently observe the attitude taken by Fenerbahce – confessing an institution to maintain 'exemplary moral values' – to the answer to the reprehensible behavior that their manager exhibits.

At the time of writing, the Portuguese manager did not respond to the allegations, but it will undoubtedly be taken seriously by all parties involved.
