The surprising withdrawal of Dan Hooker of the Co-Main event of UFC 313 has left the MMA community this morning.
The lightweight competition would be Justin Gaethje in one of the most exciting matchups of the year in Las Vegas next week. This morning, however, in a YouTube video with his daughter, he confirmed that an injured Hand Hooker from the UFC 313 fight had forced.
Both he and Gaethje are two of the most sustainable and violent hunters in the UFC. History tells us, however, that the time can catch up with the resident of Zeeland after another injury that has now cost him his greatest fight.

Although hooker is unmistakably one of the most fearless hunters in the UFC about the divisions, his style can often leave him open to serious injury. He is forced from the UFC 313 Co-Main event with Justin Gaethje because of what a broken hand could be, which is not the first time it happened.
In March 2023 he suffered a broken hand that cost him his initially planned fight with Jalin Turner. And when they finally met a few months later, he suffered a similarly horrible injury in the rear -up fight.
It was not his hand, but his arm, as well as a broken orbital for a good measure. In conversation with his friend Oscar Willis for the Mac -life, he theoretized: “I want to say that it was getting numb in the second round, I want to say that.
“But I still threw it clear, because what are you going to do? It is still broken! Do you want to have a broken arm and be a loser? I just fought through it and it was only when I was the third when I started putting some warmth on him. “
In general, Hooker's Vechtstijl has sent him to the hospital several times, including the fight.

In the run -up to his now covered fight with Gaethje, Hooker had put the camp of his life in. He knew that the fight would probably end with one of the two men on their way to the hospital, and was willing to take that chance.

“I know very well, 100 percent that, regardless of whether his arm is raised, my arm is raised,” Hooker told ESPN Australia. “I go upright on a stretcher, directly in the back of an ambulance, and I go to the hospital.
“I have come to terms, that's how this night ends, honey. I came to terms with that, brother. I embraced that. So if someone is not ready to go to the length where I want to go, then they have a tough night. “
