Fenerbahce will start legal action after Bitter Rivals Galatasaray accused their manager Jose Mourinho of Racism.
In an exclusively interview with Mail Sport, the Vice President of the Turkish club Acun Ilicali announced that Fenerbahce had extensive conversations with their lawyers after an evening of chaos while the two clubs fought a scoreless draw on Monday evening.
The events of the night ended with former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Boss Mourinho accused of racial discrimination by Galatasaray.
Mourinho, made comments about the Galatasaray bank 'jumping like monkeys' after an early challenge, and the match was better because it was not officially by a Turkish referee, with the Slave Slavko Vincic overseing it.
In response, Galatasaray released a statement that has announced both criminal proceedings and official complaints to UEFA and FIFA with regard to Mourinho's comments.
Since then, images of Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk have emerged up and down on the touchline jumping during the game.
And Ilicali has defended faithful Mourinho and revealed that Fenerbahce spoke with their lawyers about the issue.
“We are more than 110 percent certain that his goal was not racist,” Ilicali told Sport Sport.
'He has always had very good relationships with people around the world, from different nationalities.
“It is so clearly understandable. It is an insult to the intelligence of some people.
'She tired to manipulate Jose's description and at the end of the day we saw a fake and theatrical approach to Galatasaray's silk.
“When he said they were jumping like monkeys, he described the movement that is clearly understandable because the images are now public.
“He just described, such as saying” you run like a rabbit, “or” you're bad like a snake. “
“We use animals in describing some exaggeration in life and it's as simple as that.”
Asked if the club would take action against Galatasaray, Ilicali replied: 'We will go to court against Galatasaray for the blaming of our coach because this is a very disgusting accusation.
Ilicali also confirmed that Fenerbahce had held conversations with their lawyers on Tuesday.
The statement of Galatasaray, who was accompanied by the words' Say no to racism ', read:' Since the start of his management tasks in Turkey, Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho has constantly issued denigrating explanations aimed at the Turkish people.
'Today his discourse has escalated further than just immoral comments in unambiguously inhuman rhetoric.
'We formally explain our intention to initiate a criminal procedure with regard to the racist statements of Jose Mourinho and will submit official complaints accordingly to UEFA and FIFA.
“Moreover, we will diligently observe the attitude of Fenerbahce – an institute that claims to maintain 'exemplary moral values' – in response to the reprehensible behavior that their manager shows.”
