Fighting cancellations are an unhappy aspect of MMA, but some fans hurt more than others and this is one of those cases.
There are rarely guarantees in combat sports, but with a few matchups they are certified homeruns from the moment the two names are placed on paper. That is exactly what fans expected at UFC 313 on March 8 in the five-round Co-Main event in Dan Hooker and Justin Gaethje.
Somehow two of the most exciting hunters on the Roster have never confronted, but this collision came around after the recent revival of Hooker. Gaethje may come from a devastating loss for Max Holloway, but the former champion was expected to bring maximum violence to the Octagon.

Then Hooker withdraws from UFC 313 Co-Main Event Clash with Justin Gaethje
Fans may have to wait a little longer to see that this incredible lightweight collision takes place in the Octagon after an incredibly unfortunate UFC 313 news. The Australian MMA reporter Bendaman broke the news on X
Placed in a vlog by Dan Hooker's daughter Zoe shortly before a first report from 'Benny P', he said: “We had a small break, we were busy. Dad was arguing, or had to fight, but I have My leg caught.
The first report also states that it is currently unclear whether the fight will be resisted for a later date or a new opponent will be found for Justin Gaethje on UFC 313.
From the perspective of the UFC, the return of the promotion to the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas is still a strong card, although it may not have a name value outside the main event if Gaethje does not remain in action on 8 March.
The light heavyweight defending defense of Alex Pereira against Magomed Ankalaev still makes it an important date in the MMA calendar, but losing a potential fight of the year never feels good.
Dan Hooker expected a total war on UFC 313
Then Hooker has proven time and time again that he is not the kind of competitor who withdraws for a challenge or stops when it becomes difficult.
'The Hangman' prepared for a struggle of the centuries with Justin Gaethje and to go on it with an already compromised hand would never happen, especially seen what Hooker has said in the past about not making smart decisions for his career.
He already told the fans exactly what to expect on March 8, but it appears that he spent some time on the side lines earlier than expected.
“I know very well, 100 percent, that, regardless of whether his arm is raised, my arm is raised, I am going straight on a stretcher,” Hooker Espn told a smile on his face.
“Right in the back of an ambulance and I go to the hospital. I have come to terms, so this night will put an end to darling. I came to terms with that, brother. I embrace it. “
Whether it is the next fight for both men or not, it would be incredibly disappointing to never see this fight along the line at a certain moment.
